Energy Savers Week

Energy Savers Week is 15th-21st January, so Citizens Advice and Energy Saving Trust have teamed up to bring you 5 top tips for saving money while keeping warm this winter.

  1. Turn down your thermostat by 1°C and save around £105 a year on energy bills.

  2. Switch your heating off when leaving the house for a few hours.

    • Its cheaper to reheat your home than keep your heating on low while you’re out.

  3. Fit draught-proofing strips to your windows and doors to save around £45 a year.

    • This can be a cheap DIY job, which can help you feel warmer at home.

  4. Get a hot water cylinder jacket and save roughly £50 a year on energy bills.

    • Jackets are easy to fit, typically under £30 and you’ll spend less on a hot water.

  5. Keep furniture away from radiators and heaters to feel warmer at home.

For more information on each of these tips, or further information on how you can save money, and the help available for energy bills, visit Citizens Advice or Energy Saving Trust.
