What is a Climate Champion?
Become a Climate Champion and be the voice of change in your community! Picture yourself as a driving force for change in your community, spreading awareness about Our Zero Selby initiatives and inspiring and empowering the community to take action. This doesn't have to be a major time commitment; in fact, you might already be doing it!
As a Climate Champion, you’ll have an opportunity to shape the role around your interests and goals. Whether you're a resident, a business owner, or part of a social or environmental group, your voice matters, so join us as we build a resilient, sustainable community together.
What benefits can you expect?
As a Climate Champion, you’ll benefit from regular updates on net zero initiatives, access to training sessions and events, and additional support to tap into grants and services.
Initial training will cover what Net Zero entails and how you can contribute to your community's sustainability goals. But it doesn't stop there – there’s ongoing support and training tailored to your interests and goals.
You'll also have the opportunity to influence the direction of Our Zero Selby, and its impact in Selby and the surrounding area. Your input will be invaluable in developing ideas for Our Zero Selby projects, allowing you to shape a greener, more sustainable future for Selby.
What is Our Zero Selby?
Our Zero Selby is working to reduce carbon emissions, while also addressing issues of skills, fairness, health and wellbeing. Our work is based on the ideas from residents about what they would like to see happen in Selby going forwards. The project will continue to be resident-led, and the climate champions will be vital in shaping the project’s direction.
