Strut Your Stuff with Our Sustainable Fashion Show!
Public tickets for Up For Yorkshire and Our Zero Selby’s Sustainable Fashion Show have landed! Join in at Selby Abbey on Wednesday 12th November from 5pm for a celebration of sustainable style at their first-ever charity shop fashion show. This event is a key part of their Shop for the Future project, dedicated to bringing new energy and life to Selby’s high street. We will show how you can build a stylish, on-trend wardrobe while supporting local charities and protecting the planet. Expect a runway show full of fashion inspiration brought to you and styled by our second-hand shops and special exhibitions curated by local organisations.
Claire Hetherington, Our Zero Selby lead, said: ‘We are proving that pre-loved fashion is not only a fantastic way to express your personal style but also a powerful choice for a more sustainable future. By joining us, you're not just attending an event—you're supporting a great cause and making a positive impact. We are so excited to meet so many people in the community who are passionate about sustainable fashion.’
David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire said: "High streets are constantly changing, but they have, and always will be, hubs for our communities. That's why I'm backing community led projects across York and North Yorkshire, like the Shop for the Future project in Selby which will boost businesses in the town centre while promoting sustainable fashion. Residents and businesses understand most what is needed in their communities, and I am proud to be backing their plans with my £10m Vibrant and Sustainable High Street Fund."
Doors open at 5pm for stalls, information, nibbles and exhibitions. The fashion show starts at 6.30pm.
