Summer Holiday Charity Shop Game

Shop For the Future Today with Our Zero Selby’s Fun and Free Charity Shop Game

Families in Selby are invited to embark on an exciting summer adventure with the launch of the Our Zero Selby Summer Holidays Charity Shop Game as part of Up for Yorkshire’s Shop For the Future project.

This eco-friendly initiative, running from now until Sunday 31st August, encourages children and parents to engage in a fun, interactive activity while raising awareness about climate change, waste reduction and the crucial role of charity shops in building a more sustainable community. By offering pre-loved items a new life, charity shops significantly help to reduce waste, conserve resources and lower our collective carbon footprint.

Children will search for letters displayed in the windows of charity shops across Selby, each featuring a letter. Once all the letters are collected, they will complete a special phrase. Completed forms can be submitted either via email or in-person at Community House on Portholme Road for a chance to win a prize.

Connie, Our Zero Selby Project Support Officer from Up for Yorkshire, commented, " We are so excited to launch this trail, designed for families to have fun exploring Selby’s fantastic charity shops. These shops are vital resources in keeping our high street alive and combatting environmental problems caused by excessive consumption and fast fashion by championing reuse and recycling. This trail is a playful way to highlight their incredible contribution to a circular economy”
